# Anchors Class

Ready to gain some serious climbing skills? Let’s get anchored and start learning!

This class is all about learning how to set up solid, reliable anchors, whether you’re using gear to build natural anchors or relying on fixed ones. We’ll guide you through the process of understanding anchor systems, knots, and how to assess safety before your next climb. But it’s not just about setting up anchors, you’ll also learn how to clean those anchors and be lowered back to the ground.

- Discussion of Equipment Uses/Maintenance/Retirement
- Essential knots and hitches
- Setting up Natural Anchors
- Setting up Fixed Anchors/Bolt
- Natural Anchor evaluation principles
- Fixed Anchor/Bolt evaluation principles
- Negotiating the edge securely
- Cleaning Fixed Anchors/Bolts using wrap rings as well as Mussy Hooks
- Special Note: This class does not go into Trad/Gear Anchors
